Questions related to oppression, slavery and exploitation of non-human animals, are not separable from the same questions related to human animals: if for ethical reasons we are in favor of veganism, we have to be also in favor of human liberation; if you we are against racism, we can not be accomplices in the equestrian exploitation of horses; if we fight supporting the anti-sexist question, then we can not promotes dog obedience training; if we have interest in the quality of life of non-humans, we also have to be interested in the quality of life of humans.
Animal ethics recognizes and emphasizes the contribution of the intrinsic value brought by non-humanity, expanding its circle also to human animality, creating the precious opportunity for humans to remain humans-less-humans, deconstructing all the human-too-human beliefs.
Because we are all animals.
One day the absurdity of the almost universal human belief in the slavery of other animals will be palpable. We shall then have discovered our souls and become worthier of sharing this planet with them. Martin Luther King, Jr.
